Last week friends @gggg.bici (“100% friendship 0 Last week friends @gggg.bici (“100% friendship 0% performance”) turned up at our factory on the outskirts of Milan to pick up some Nemo Gravels to test ride 180km out to BAM, Italy’s premier bike touring festival in Mantova… looks like it went well!!
Cinelli Garage #2 Andrea Donati, technical produc Cinelli Garage #2

Andrea Donati, technical product developer, started his cycling adventure riding track bikes with the @dafnefixed collective. Like many others this passion evolved into a passion for racing road and mountain bikes and, more recently, gravel.

Featured here is Andrea’s Hobootleg Geo prototype, which he helped develop and built up himself and which, subsequently, became the catalogue model in 2021. Andrea defines his personal build of the Geo as a “monster cross” bike, a bike for riding trails fast but which also comfortable enough to spend all day on the saddle on longer, overnight camping, rides. Relative to catalogue specs only a few changes have been: wheels have been upgraded to a set of @fsa_road afterburner wheels, bags by local brand @miss_grape_official have been added and a shorter Cinelli ANT stem substitutes the 90cm standard in order for a more reactive steering. Also note: prototype version of the cable routing, which allows for greater wheel clearance relative to previous iterations of the Geo.

From the factory floor #2

The origins of Cinelli’s Hobootleg range of adventure bicycles lie in the Tour d’Afrique, an annual 11 000 km transcontinental endurance race across 10 African countries. The 2012 and 2013 editions served as the ultimate testing ground for first @dariotoso and then @notchas and @lucasbrunelle to perfect the final specs of the bike. Then, as still today, we pay homage to this origin story with our signature green, red and blue cable housing representing the colours of the continent of Africa

CINELLI GARAGE #1 ALESSANDRO PACETTI’S NEMO GRAV CINELLI GARAGE #1 ALESSANDRO PACETTI’S NEMO GRAVEL
The Nemo Gravel had been on @alessandropacetti ’s radar for several years before, finally, at the end of 2021, he made the plunge and placed a custom order. “It was the intimacy and human touch of the company that convinced me. I met people from the brand at gravel events and when I expressed my interest I felt immediately involved, as though there was no distance between me and the brand and no judgement on what kind of cyclist I was, which is pretty rare here in Italy…”
Pacetti’s request was detailed and demanding: a 100% Italian made steel bicycle that hybridized the feelings and demands of travel and gravel, able to be ridden day after day on long self-supported endurance races. These needs brought about the use of a new fork, the Columbus Futura Cross which allows for bag mounts on the fork, rounder profile Columbus seatstays that allow for further bag mounts and a tweaked geometry. For paint, Pacetti chose the Green-Pink colorway, a metallic iridescent paint that changes colour according to the angle at which it is viewed, with subtle black Cinelli decals. The refined Italian theme was completed with a Campagnolo EKAR group and Fulcrum’s new carbon gravel wheels.
While the bike is still fresh, with less than a few thousands kilometres on the dial, Alessandro is preparing to head to France to ride the 540km @impresaetrusca Impresa Occitane at the end of June… Good luck Alessandro!

From the factory floor #1 Today, the Cinelli Pass From the factory floor #1

Today, the Cinelli Passatore (1989) looks like one of Europe’s first ever gravel bikes. At the time of its first creation it was an intuitively designed mutant that sought to cannibalize parts and functionality from top-of-the-range road and mountain bikes to create an all-terrain long-distance riding machine. The idea of the bike was borne, like many of the most creative bikes of that period, from conversations held between customers and staff at Gran Ciclismo, Cinelli’s legendary Milanese bikeshop…
