The Cinelli Garage continues with a very exotic build, the Gazzetta Hill Bombing.
The Gazzetta is Cinelli’s classic style steel track frame, made from Columbus Cromor series, with triple-butted tubing, micro-TIG welded for greater durability.
It’s the frame of choice of many messenger collectives, like the Italian UBM (Urban Bike Messengers).
Its excellent urban versatility always encourages us to play, exploring how exotic we can be in assembling a complete bike.
One day we found ourselves dreaming about the Stelvio and its magnificent roads, wondering what would be the perfect fixed gear bike for the climb, and the descent.
We chose the Gazzetta for its all-day comfort, and decided to assemble it with our favourite components for this purpose.
The 750mm wide Thomson All Mountain Trail Carbon Riser handlebar offers the best climbing comfort, as well as a perfect control for the descent.
The rims we needed had to be light yet not sacrificing strength, stiffness and stability. The Archetype H+ Son are perfect for the job, especially with hubs by Phil Wood, whose uncompromising high standards delivers the best hand-crafted products with a simple design, the highest quality materials and the ultimate durability.
In choosing the gear ratio we had to balance ascent and descent, and ended up with a 46×18 – easy enough to climb and to skid during the descent.
The Brooks Cambium All Weather C17 saddle suits perfectly the needs of the hill bomber.
To complete the built we choose Continental Gatorskin Hardshell 700×28 tyres for their extra long reliability.
