Nice second place for Team Colpack Ballan Colombian rider Nicholas Gomez at Gran Premio dell’Industria in Civitanova Marche (MC) last Sunday.
“We got so close – Gomez said – but the last few meters were slightly uphill and I wasn’t able to express all my watts to win the sprint. I gave my everything because I wanted to dedicate the victory to the a very special person, the guy who introduced me to cycling, who recently passed away. I look forward to have the chance to realize my desire. Today I have to thank all my teammates for their brilliant effort in a race so edgy against very strong opponents.”

Team manager Ivan Quaranta added: “The second place is quite a shame, we’ve been on the front for almost the entire race. We had plenty of crushes in this season opening, three of our riders crushed even today. In circuit races, like todays, without the supporting car closing the gap becomes terribly hard, due to the high speed of the pack.”
