After Brooklyn , Team Cinelli Chrome raced RedHook Series second stage in London last Saturday. The overall shape of the Team was excellent, they had been racing and getting podium at every race they took part.
Early Saturday, Team Cinelli Chrome experienced once again the new qualification rules, 5 groups and just 2 riders per team in the same group.
Since the early laps, riders found out that turn 3 was very slippery. During qualifying there have been a lot of crushes there, including Biganzoli and Petrache. Biga hurted his left hand quite bad, but both riders were able to avoid major injuries. There were many crushes at the same turn even in women’s field, slowing Ashley Faye and Jo Celso from getting their fastest lap. They qualified 11th and 13th.
The female final race was dominated by Danielle King, British pro rider, Olympic Gold medalist and World Champion in team pursuit. She lapped almost every rider but the 3rd and the 2nd. Nonetheless Jo Celso managed to get a solid 5th place, proving to be one of the most consistent rider of the fixed gear peloton.
The male race was very hard, Petrache managed to break away with Strickland but he spent too much during early laps and couldn’t keep Strickland wheel. He ended up 7th while Ravaioli did not find the right moment to sprint and got 4th.
Thanks to the points earned Team Cinelli Chrome is still in the fight for the 1st place in teams standings.
See you in Barcelona!
